The importance of a good beat preview
Posted by MiDeWestCo (Producer) in production-tips
Your beat preview is your 30-second pitch. On beatcorelab, artists decide within seconds whether to keep listening. Tips:
- Start with your strongest section (usually the drop/chorus)
- Don't put a long intro on the preview
- Make sure the preview covers melody, drums, and bass
- Keep previews around 1:30-2:30
- Ensure volume levels are competitive
I A/B tested different preview arrangements on my beatcorelab beats and the ones that start strong get 3x more plays. First impressions matter!
What's your preview strategy?
