Lo-fi hip hop is still alive and profitable
Posted by Gnayss (Producer) in beat-making
Some people say lo-fi is dead but my lo-fi beats on beatcorelab consistently sell. The lo-fi audience is loyal and the genre has expanded into lo-fi R&B, lo-fi jazz hop, and even lo-fi drill.
Production tips for lo-fi:
- Vinyl crackle (subtle, not overpowering)
- Tape saturation on the master
- Jazzy chord progressions (7ths and 9ths)
- Relaxed, swung drums
- RC-20 is your best friend
There's a dedicated audience for chill, atmospheric beats and beatcorelab helps you reach them. What's your favorite lo-fi technique?
