5 sample sources every producer should know
Posted by Dyllio2k (Producer) in production-tips
Sample hunting is one of my favorite parts of producing. Here are 5 sources I use regularly:
1. Vinyl records from thrift stores - nothing beats that analog warmth
2. YouTube deep dives into obscure 70s soul/jazz
3. Field recordings from your phone
4. Free sample packs from other producers on beatcorelab
5. Old movie soundtracks and dialogue
The key is to chop and process samples until they're unrecognizable. Always clear your samples if you're selling commercially on platforms like beatcorelab.
What are your go-to sample sources?
